Most locals visit Elberta during the widely popular Elberta German Sausage Festival, which was started in the mid-1970s. This free event is sponsored by the volunteer fire department and draws an estimated 40,000-50,000 visitors twice a year. Hundreds of arts and crafts vendors, all types of food and live entertainment continue to make the Elberta German Sausage Festival a success.
