About Summerdale
Summerdale is located north of Foley and south of Robertsdale along Highway 59. This city sees spikes in traffic during the summer months, as thousands of people flock south to the beaches of Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan, Orange Beach, Perdido Key, Ono Island and beyond. Aside from the many restaurants, tourists enjoy visiting Alligator Alley, which is well-known for allowing visitors to feed and hold alligators. Summerdale is a short drive to the beaches and a quick hop to Tanger Outlets, the largest retail shopping center in proximity to the city. Summerdale includes portions of the Baldwin Beach Express, which opened fully in 2014, relieving traffic congestion along busy Highway 59. A splash park is also available for children within the city limits, allowing them to cool off during the hot summer months.
